Bremen (dpa / lni) – A 42-year-old man has had to answer for murder at the Bremen regional court since Thursday. He is said to have hit his partner in November of last year in Bremerhaven with his fists, a filled beer can and a screwdriver, as the prosecutor said when reading the indictment on Thursday. The facial area was almost destroyed. The Serbian defendant gave up on his girlfriend when he thought she was dead. His client admits to be responsible for the death of the woman, said his lawyer Thomas Domanski.
According to the prosecutor, the accused himself alerted the ambulance service after the crime and declared that he “killed his wife”. When the police arrived, he said, “It was me, it was me, I’m sorry,” reported a police officer involved in the operation. The man was arrested without resistance and claimed to have had a “blackout”. Another police officer reported that he also said he had used cocaine and heroin.
When the police and rescue workers arrived, the woman is said to have been conscious. She died two days later of cerebral edema and high blood loss, the police and prosecutor said. The investigators suspect jealousy as the motive for the act. (Ref .: 21KS912JS76456 / 20)
