Toyota has managed to overtake Hyundai nexo and launched the first hydrogen car on the Czech market, which already he also knows domestic prices. However, this is just the beginning of the brand’s hydrogen endeavor, and it is preparing many times more.

The company, together with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking and the management company SPARX, will contribute three billion crowns in financing another fund to support new technologies, especially hydrogen. Mirai Creation Fund III wants to raise a total of 20 billion crowns to support the development of intelligent technologies, robotics, hydrogen technology, electrification and the development of new materials.

The fund will be launched in October this year and, according to an official press release, wants to invest in companies that have technologies capable of ensuring growth for future generations. At the same time, it focuses a lot on technologies that help achieve carbon neutrality. More and more investors will be able to apply to the fund until approximately the end of March next year.
One of the main tasks of the whole program is to be hydrogen, specifically hydrogen propulsion, hydrogen production and distribution. For many years now, Toyota has been involved in hydrogen technology not only in the passenger car sector, but has also created, for example, the first hydrogen ships, trucks or trains.

The second generation of the Mirai model appeared in the Czech Republic only a few months ago, but the first has been roaming the world’s roads for six years. The Czech government recently approved a hydrogen strategy that envisages the construction of new filling stations. It is expected that by 2030, 40,000 to 50,000 hydrogen cars will travel on domestic roads.
