The money changer from Ústí, which applied 90 billion to the bank, must prove where he took it

The money changer himself according to iRozhlasu claims that the money comes from his two exchange offices in Prague. But their returns do not correspond to this.

However, the police did not prove anything to the man, but the server reminds that in tax proceedings, proving the origin of money lies with the entrepreneur.

“In the event that it does not prove the source and amount of income leading to an increase in assets, the financial administration bodies, in accordance with the procedural regulation, impose a tax liability and penalties or other sanctions,” said Zuzana Mašátová, spokeswoman for the General Finance Directorate.

Tax up to three billion

The tax would be 15 percent, but there is also a penalty if the taxpayer does not cooperate. As a result, the amount could be taxed up to 30 percent. The administration can tax the amounts deposited in the last three years, which would then apply to about 10 billion, which the money changer applied to the bank during this period. The additional tax could then be up to three billion.

The radio said the man was making cash deposits in euros, which he had exchanged for dollars. After a few hours, he picked them up again.

The radio also recalled a similar case from 2017, when a woman from the Děčín region applied 12 billion crowns to the bank over four years. She also declared them as income from exchange offices. But she did not prove the origin of the money, in the end she shot herself. The origin of the money was not discovered by the police at the time.
