Trace of oil in the Almelo De Haandrik canal, presumably from ship | Almelo

The oil was found near the bridge over the canal in Daarlerveen. According to the Vechtstromen water board, the oil comes from a discharge, presumably by a ship. Employees of the water board put oil screens and oil booms in the canal to get the oil out of the water. The oil track is about 200 meters long.

The oil in the canal is good to smell because of the strong smell. The water board is conducting further research into the origin of the oil. People who know more are requested to contact us via 088-220 33 33.
