Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A report says that aliens are trying to peek at human life on Earth. They do so through the 29 planets in the solar system.
This information comes from the findings of two astronomers from the United States (US). That assumption is made by seeing a faint shadow as the planet passes in front of the sun, a similar trick to detecting the existence of other life in outer space.
“One way we find planets is if they block some of the light from their parent star,” said Lisa Kalteneger, director of the Carl Sagan Institute, Corneel University.
“We asked, ‘Who are we aliens for, if someone else is looking?’ Well there’s a tiny sliver in the sky where other star systems have a cosmic front seat to finding Earth as a transiting planet,” he explained.
These astronomers identified 1,715 objects that are said to be able to see Earth at first. They then slashed the list down to 46 star systems close enough to be able to hear radio and TV broadcasts from Earth.
Jackie Fahery, a senior scientist at the American Museum of Natural History, said he wanted to use the closest star. According to him, the closest object is the most interesting.
“We want to use the closest stars. When it comes to exploring the world, the ones closest to us are going to be the most exciting,” Faherty told NPR News.
For example, other creatures on the planet Ross-128b may have discovered Earth. While aliens in Star B and Star C Teegarden can see Earth in about 29 years.
Previously, a number of thinkers including theoretical physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking warned humans not to try to make contact with extraterrestrial life. Because there is a possibility that aliens are not happy to hear about humans on Earth.
Some of them also stated that there may be many alien races among the stars in space. Yet the aliens are said to remain silent as a way of avoiding a major threat to civilization.
