The friendly meeting which should pit the Senegalese basketball team against that of Germany on Thursday, June 24, no longer took place due to the cases of Covid-19 in the ranks of the Senegalese training announced a little earlier the German part.
“The international match is canceled. Due to some positive PCR tests in the ranks of the Senegalese team, the international match between Germany and Senegal in Heidelberg, scheduled for 8 pm, will not take place, ”tweeted the German Basketball Federation.
This meeting should serve as a preparation match for the Basketball Lions who are due to travel to Belgrade this Friday as part of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. It begins on June 29 and ends on July 4, 2021. In Serbia, Senegal will play Puerto Rico on June 29 and Italy on June 30, 2021 in Group B.
