Oppo presents new generation of under-screen camera

Oppo has introduced a new generation of its under-screen camera. Putting the front camera directly under the screen will be the melody of the future and becoming more common.

Like ZTE’s new generation of technology, Oppo has managed to make it impossible to see on the screen where the camera is located. The OLED screen has the same pixel density above the camera as for the rest of the panel.

According to Oppo, users will hardly see any difference between the camera area and the rest of the screen, without distractions. The image above (and below so it can be enlarged) comes from Oppo and shows a prototype with the camera integrated, in an e-book reader.

In the first generation of cameras under the screen, the image sensor would have been very clear against a white background and contrasting black text, while now it is not noticeable – at least not in the photograph. Oppo has also provided a sample photo from the front camera, in daylight.

Oppo has not said when the first phone with the technology will be released. The fact that Oppo has access to under-screen cameras means that we can also see them in future OnePlus phones.
