Three people were killed and at least 13 injured in an attack in a diplomatic neighborhood and a military installation in the Afghan capital, Kabul, yesterday and today.
An explosion in the protected Sherpur district of Kabul is said to have been caused by a car bomb. News channel Al Jazeera reports that three attackers were killed. At least ten were injured. After the first major explosion, several smaller explosions and gunfire were heard.
Afghan Defense Minister Bismillah Khan may have been the target of the attack. The minister was not at home at the time of the attack. He and his family have been rescued.
There was a heavy explosion at the minister’s home.
