With this measure, Vitalité Health Network wants to help relieve congestion in the Campbellton Regional Hospital care units caused by a lack of nursing staff. The emergency service remains available, but authorities are asking people to come only if they need to see a doctor for urgent care.
Several alternatives are possible. Network management suggests that people whose state of health is not critical make an appointment with their family doctor, nurse practitioner, consult their community pharmacist, go to a walk-in clinic or to communicate with the Tele-Care service by dialing 811. After meeting several citizens, the situation does not seem to worry the citizens of Campbellton.
