jpnn.com, PUNCAK JAYA – The Nemangkawi Task Force has arrested a fugitive in the case of the robbery of a firearm belonging to the Police at the Kulirik Police Post, Puncak Jaya, Papua.
The fugitive named Kopengga Enumbi who is a member of an armed criminal group (KKB).
Head of the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force Kombes Ahmad Mustofa Kamal said the perpetrator was arrested on Tuesday (3/8) at 11.20 local time.
“The perpetrator in question was the perpetrator of the theft with violence of eight weapons at the Kulirik Post, Puncak Jaya Regency on January 4, 2014,” said Kamal in a press release, Tuesday.
Kamal said that Kopengga Enumbi’s arrest took place in Puncak Smile Village, Jl. Trans Wamena-Puncak Jaya, Irimuli District, Kab. Puncak Jaya.
“The Nemangkawi Task Force, led by Ipda Dedi Sudomo and backed up by Yon Raider 613/RJA, exchanged fire with the Kopengga Enumbi group. Kopengga Enumbi was disabled,” said Kamal.
According to Kamal, so far Kopengga Enumbi alias Tamu Enumbi has played an important role in meeting the logistical needs for the Yambi KKB movement under the leadership of Lekagak Telenggen.
“During the arrest, officers also confiscated evidence in the form of eleven rounds of 5.56 mm SS1 ammunition, a badik knife, a green highlighter helmet, and a mobile phone unit,” said Kamal.
