Another 1,800 tickets for the concert of Sonya Yoncheva and Placido Domingo are released – on August 31 in front of the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the organizers of SY11 announced, BTA reported.
The additional tickets are priced from BGN 60 to BGN 250. The Sofia Municipality, which is a partner of the event, creates a special admission regime. Music lovers from all over Europe come for the “Gala in Sofia”.
The performers are part of the program of the big opera festival with concerts in Ljubljana, but their only joint participation will be in Sofia. Yoncheva’s last performance these days was in Montpellier, where she gave a concert with the Philharmonic. In the autumn, the opera prima will have a series of concerts in Europe with the repertoire from the album. The soprano is expected to present it in Bulgaria in 2022.
Placido Domingo closed the festival in Arena di Verona and after a short break will arrive in Sofia for his concert with Sonya Yoncheva. “For me, this will be an exciting journey through the opera world with one of the greatest artists of our time,” said Yoncheva.
