Speculation about a mysterious game Abandoned they have been taking on a very wild look for some time, but the latest from an Australian magazine Poptopic takes things to a whole new level. They have reportedly spoken to a “source close to Sony” who tells them that both Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid are in preparation, Hideo Kojima is involved in both, and the announcement will come soon:
“Conspiracy theories hit it. Sony really lures you into a Silent Hill game. This is really the Silent Hills title that was unveiled in 2014 and later “Abandoned” in 2015. Sony will use one of its dissolved in-house studios, BLUE BOX Game Studios, to promoted the game through the Augmented Reality app. “
The same source also claims that a recent suspicious example from Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is in fact a lure to the PS5 exclusive Metal Gear Solid title:
“I’m sure the Death Stranding: Director’s Cut trailer is a deliberate lure to reveal Metal Gear Solid, just as Abandoned is a lure to the Silent Hill game. I know it seems confusing, but when you see Kojima connect the two, it will make better sense. Fans can expect news about their favorite series very soon. “
From the above, it seems that the mysterious source clearly suggests a connection between the two games. It sounds absolutely insane, but if it happened to be at least half true, it would probably more than offset the disappointment of the postponement of Horizon Forbidden West on the next Sony show. At this stage, Abandoned marketing acts as a clear troll that authors have no chance of going through unless they are really connected to Kojima.
