A new protest is scheduled for August 10, in Victoriei Square, starting with 19.00, the reason for dissatisfaction being this time the criminal case targeting the 2018 demonstration, which resulted in violence. The event will take place under the slogan: “We want the culprits for # 10AUGUST2018!”.
“Three years have passed since the peaceful demonstration on August 10, 2018 – Victoriei Square was violently shattered by state authorities, with the help of the Romanian Gendarmerie, violating the rights of citizens who expressed dissatisfaction with legislative changes in the field of justice.
Diasporans who came to protest in the country were treated by the Romanian state with gas, sticks, slander and manipulation on television.
Sebastian Cucoș, Cătălin Sindile, Laurențiu Cazan, the heads of the Gendarmerie who carried out the reprisals, as well as Colonel Paraschiv – the “conductor” – were not punished for the violence they committed in the street.
Carmen Dan, the then interior minister, was not given any punishment for using the gendarmerie as a weapon in the power struggle with the protesters.

Prosecutor Doru Stoica, who filed the case, returned the phones of the parties involved without conducting a computer search. The effect of his action may lead to the ambiguity of the remaining evidence and the resolution of the superficial case, without the culprits being punished in accordance with their acts.
