Blue mush found in keyholes: new method of …

Mortsel, Deurne

Several residents of Mortsel and Deurne found a blue malleable mush in the keyhole of their front door on Sunday evening. Local residents fear that it is a new way of working for burglars. “New modus operandi or vandalism? We don’t know,” said police zone Minos.

The residents of Deurnestraat in Mortsel and Vosstraat in Deurne found a strange substance in the keyhole of their front door on Sunday evening. “A blue slurry was sprayed in our door on Sunday,” Kris Flossie testified on ATV. “We immediately went to look at the neighbors and we found the same stuff there too.”

The residents fear that it is a new trick of burglars to see if you are traveling. “When we removed the blue slurry, it was still soft. It looked like plasticine. Meanwhile, the pieces have become very hard. If we had left that alone, we couldn’t get in with our key.”

Additional patrols

The concerned residents immediately notified the police, but they too are in the dark. “There have been no reports of burglaries in the homes and no reports of a plague of burglaries in the area,” said Kim Verdoodt, chief inspector of the Minos police zone. “Is it a new modus operandi that we don’t know about yet or is it silliness? We can’t say much about it at the moment.”

“For the time being, it remains to be seen whether this phenomenon will occur more in the coming days and will expand to other streets. Just to be sure, we will patrol the affected area extra,” says Verdoodt.
