JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Well-known lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea shared his opinion about the controversy between Ayu Ting Ting’s parents, Abdul Rozak and Umi Kalsum, who raided the catering house in Bojonegoro, East Java.
Some people think that Abdul Rozak and Umi Kalsum’s visit to Kartika Damayanti’s parents’ house is considered an act of vigilantism. However, Hotman Paris considers that this is not a vigilante if there are no violent acts.
“Just come if it’s not a rude act, don’t judge yourself,” said Hotman Paris, quoted from Celebrity Tribune, Tuesday (3/8/2021).

Furthermore, Hotman considered that the actions of Ayu Ting Ting’s parents were still within reasonable limits because they only aimed to ask for clarification.
It’s different if there are sentences or words that lead to insults or harsh words, according to Hotman, they can be reported to the police.
“If there is abuse, it also depends on what the insult is. If it leads to a criminal act, it can be reported to the police, depending on what the sentence is,” he concluded.
Previously, Abdul Rozak and Umi Kalsum went to Bojonegoro, East Java and met the parents of the bully Ayu Ting Ting and Bilqis, Kartika Damayanti.
After the incident, Kartika Damayanti, who was in Singapore, uploaded an apology video. However, Ayu Ting Ting’s family confirmed that they would still report it to the authorities.
