It was a bloody night in the city, with 18 people fatally or seriously affected in seven different shootings.
In the Queens district, two hooded men opened fire on Saturday evening, around 10:40 p.m. “The two men immediately drew their guns and shot in the direction of a barber.“, according to the police who evoke a concerted attack.
More than 40 projectiles were fired, hitting a group in front of this barber as well as passers-by and people celebrating a birthday in a restaurant.
10 victims, three people targeted
Eight men and two women were victims of the shooting, authorities said. Once the smoke from the guns had cleared, the two men left in the back of the scooters that had left them in the street.
All of the victims, aged 19 to 72, were taken to hospital and are expected to survive their injuries.
Police believe the shooting targeted three members of the Trinitarios gang in front of the barber. The other victims would be collateral damage.
