IDC also ranks Xiaomi as the second largest smartphone brand in the world

INDOZONE.ID – Some time ago Canalys Research released a report regarding the worldwide smartphone market share for the second quarter of 2021, in which it was stated that Xiaomi managed to beat Apple and is currently the second largest smartphone brand.

It turns out that similar results are also shown by the IDC analyst company report. Through its latest smartphone market share report, it is stated that Xiaomi now has a market share above Apple.

In the report, it is stated that Samsung is the largest smartphone brand with 59 million smartphone units shipped in Q2 2021 and now has a market share of 18.8%.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi is in second place with a market share percentage of 16.9% or 53.1 million smartphone units shipped. Apple also had to settle for 3rd position because it has a percentage of 14.1%.

It can be seen that other smartphone brands from China such as OPPO and Vivo have now managed to occupy the 4th and 5th positions with fairly fast growth and are likely to beat Apple in the next few years.

Indeed, Xiaomi itself is currently experiencing very fast growth. IDC also said that Xiaomi’s Year-Over-Year growth has now increased by 86% and is arguably so large that it makes them the biggest smartphone brand in the world.
