Chen Yufei won 21-18, 19-21, 21-18 over Tai Tzu Ying in the women’s singles final Tokyo 2020 Olympics which took place at Musashino Sport Forest Plaza, Sunday (1/8) night.
The Tzu Ying vs Yufei match is a duel ranked first and second in the world as well as the first and second seeds in 2020 Olympics.
A tight duel between the two women’s singles occurred in the first game. Tzu Ying, who had led the points, was left behind at 7-10. However, the 2018 Asian Games champion was able to reverse the position to 11-10 in the first game interval.
Tzu-ying had a hit accuracy problem which gave Yufei an advantage. Tzu-ying’s game which was actually quite slick did not result in a victory in the first game. Yufei won 21-18 in the opening game.
In the second gym, Tzu-ying still can’t get rid of unforced errors like in the first gym. Yufei took the lead in the second gym interval.
