TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Covid-19 Vaccination is being carried out in the community. According to dr. Ursula Penny Putrikrislia, vaccine is the most effective way to provide the most specific immunity. By being injected with a vaccine, the body will recognize it to handle and fight the incoming virus.
Vaksinasi perlu dipercepat agar cepat mencapai herd immunity," tambah Ursula.
People who want to be vaccinated must meet the requirements, one of which is in good health. Ursula also recommends getting enough sleep, drinking lots of water, relaxing, and of course being registered as a vaccination participant.
“You must understand each other’s congenital diseases, such as hypertension and diabetes. The medicine must be taken regularly, and you must also pay attention to blood pressure. For people with diabetes, there must be the latest lab results regarding sugar levels in the past month,” he explained.
“As for those who have a history of heart disease, check the ECG and if there is no heart blockage or chest pain, it is allowed. Therefore, you must make sure your body is healthy, so even if you have comorbidities you can be vaccinated,” he added.
In Indonesia there are five Covid-19 vaccine which are considered safe and halal, namely AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Moderna, Pfizer, which have been labeled halal by MUI. Indra Rudiansyah, who was involved in handling the clinical trial process for the AstraZeneca vaccine at the Oxford Vaccine Center and part of the team of professor Sarah Gilbert, Head of the Jenner Institute at Oxford University, England, gave an overview of the side effects of the AZ vaccine.
“Just like drugs, vaccines have side effects. Outcome considerations risk and benefit ratio, the benefits are greater. For example, chemotherapy can have a negative effect on our bodies, but it can help the body fight cancer,” said Indra, who is also an alumni of Beswan Djarum class 2011/2012.
“Side effect of vaccines can be very diverse, some are common and some are rare. Pain at the injection site, fatigue, headache, nausea are common side effects. If after receiving the AZ vaccine you experience these symptoms, there is no need to panic as long as the side effects are felt up to seven days after the vaccination. There is no conclusion regarding vaccine-related deaths,” said Indra.
