South Tangerang – PT Hero Supermarket Tbk (HERO) decided to close all Giant outlets at the end of July 2021. The last day before the permanent closure of all branches, the condition of Giant Melati Mas, North Serpong, South Tangerang, which closed on Saturday 31 July 2021, it seemed that there were no items left.
The sad part is that at the entrance there is a paper that reads “Giant Melati Mas is closed. Thank you, we say goodbye.” Local residents also admitted that they were sad because this Giant outlet had accompanied him since childhood.
Even a loyal customer named Rian said that Giant once made his mother happy. “Thank you for making my mother happy,” he said, Sunday (1/8/2021).

Unlike customers, previously when there was an announcement that it would be closed, hundreds of Giant Serpong employees were confused about their status. They even could only surrender until the time for the outlets to close.
An employee named Iskandar, who has worked for about 8 years, admitted that he had not looked for another job. Meanwhile, other employees received information that they would retire early.

Luckily, there were already Giant Serpong employees who claimed to have received Rp. 100 million in severance pay with BPJS money that had not been disbursed.
