The Swarco Raiders Tirol clearly defeated their arch rivals Dacia Vienna Vikings in the fight for the Austrian Bowl XXXVI on Saturday. In the Tivoli Stadium at home, head coach Kevin Herron’s team secured an undisputed 35:14 (28: 0) success in partly heavy rain and thus celebrated the eighth championship title in the club’s history.
Decisive for the defeat of the Viennese was not least a weak, faulty first half, which Vikings head coach Chris Calaycay simply described as a “nightmare” after the end of the game. At the latest when Raiders quarterback Sean Shelton had put his second touchdown to 35-0 in the final quarter, the game was over. The outstanding Sean Shelton was voted the best player of the Austrian Bowl.
