Jakarta, Selular.ID – International Data Corporation (IDC) has released its latest report which reveals that in the second quarter of this year for the Chinese market there were around 78.1 million smartphone units shipped in Q2 2021.
What’s interesting is that after leaving Huawei, Honor made it into the top five smartphone brands in China. While Vivo led the smartphone market in the second quarter of this year with shipments of 18.6 million units, or controlled about 23.8 percent of the market.

OPPO follows in second place with 16.5 million units and a market share of 21.1 percent. The third brand on this list is Xiaomi which managed to ship 13.4 million units in China in the second quarter of 2021, covering 17.2 percent of the market.
While Xiaomi recently ranked as the second largest smartphone brand globally, overtaking Apple and now sitting right behind Samsung. Apple has managed to ship 8.6 million iPhones in Q2 2021 in China and has covered about 10.9 percent of the market.

Honor debuted on the list, controlling about 8.9 percent of the market with 6.9 million units shipped. Among all these brands, Xiaomi recorded the highest growth of 47 percent year-on-year, followed by Vivo at 23.6 percent. OPPO grew by 17.3 percent while Apple recorded 17 percent growth in China.
