The best-selling Ford model in Europe is built in Romania

Ford parades in Europe with a model built in Romania. It is about Puma, the crossover that comes out of the assembly line of the Craiova plant. How many customers ordered it?

The Ford Puma is the best-selling Ford model in the first half of this year. Between January and June 2021, no less than 83,246 customers chose a copy built at Ford plant in Craiova.

The car that is being built in Romania is followed in the Transit Custom ranking, ordered in 70,604 copies. Complete the Fiesta podium with 63,078 units.

On the 4th place is installed another SUV with blue oval. It is about Kuga, with 61,994 units.

Transit is on the 5th, and Ford Focus finishes the first half of this year on the 6th place. 48,651 customers have chosen one. On the 7th is the Ford Ranger pickup. 29,910 customers have ordered one.

Ford Transit Connect is on the 8th place with 20,809 copies.

Also from Craiova, but on the ninth position in the ranking, comes Ford EcoSport. Ford sold 14,390 units. Turneo finishes the ranking of the 10 best-selling Ford models, with 12,945 units.

Ford Puma, built in Romania, is in its second year on the market

The Ford Puma hit the market in 2019. Last year, the small crossover was forced to settle for third place in the standings, behind the established Fiesta and Focus. The two registered decreases of 40 and 9.4%, respectively.

In Romania, Puma has a starting price of 21,050 euros. With the Ford promotion and the subsidy offered by the state through the Scrap Program, the car reaches 18,250 euros.

It is the price for the car with Titanium equipment and 1.0 EcoBoost engine with mild-hybrid technology. The unit develops 125 horsepower and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The model is available exclusively with front-wheel drive.
