NEW YORK – Two people were trapped under debris after a roof collapsed in a Brooklyn construction zone Friday afternoon, police officials said.
The collapse occurred in a 5-story residential building a few minutes after 1 pm The building is located in Prospect Lefferts Gardens on Lincoln Road.
Police could not immediately confirm whether there were occupants in other areas of the building.
Authorities say two people were trapped in the collapse. The New York City Fire Department said the two people were taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
