I think you are comparing apples to oranges; the fact is that Apple charges a fee for using the infrastructure. They charge a commission on every transaction in the App Store, which is not fair to developers. That’s not a fact, of course, but I think a lot of people would agree.
If you offer monthly software options, that is a choice that you can take yourself. In addition, you will receive a service for this. Apple provides nothing extra for the consumer outside of the infrastructure of the App Store. Yes, so-called hypocrisy, apps are still regularly removed that have “stolen” customer data anyway.
I think it’s good when people, like Elon Musk, put these situations to the test. After all, this is ultimately aimed at a better product for the consumer. But that’s also an opinion, of course.
