In Riga, in the cultural space “Hanzas perons” and “Vasaras perona” terrace, a new city festival without distance “Var! Būt!” Is taking place on July 30 and 31. The festival features more than 20 musicians, including the Estonian indirock band Ewert and The Two Dragons, the colorful British musical group The Tiger Lillies, the pop rock group Carnival Youth, the jazz band Very Cool People, the hip-hop artist Ozols and electronic music artist Sign Libra.

The festival has three stages, where both musicians and DJs perform. Well-known artists play on the stage of the “Summer Platform”, but the indoor stage of the “Hanseatic Platform” is dedicated to a more exploratory and intimate musical atmosphere, as well as DJ sets.

On July 30, on the “Summer Platform” stage “Being!” The Estonian indro rock group “Ewert and The Two Dragons”, founded 12 years ago and led by vocalist Ewert Sundja, performed in Latvia. On the “Summer Platform” stage “Being!” singer Linda Leen also performed with the band, the pop rock band Carnival Youth and the experimental soul-pop trio Kautkaili.

On the “Hanseatic platform” stage “Var!” On July 30, a duo of jazz experimenters – guitarist Matīss Čudars and drummer Ivars Arutjunjans – saxophonist Denis Paškevičs’ modular synthesizer music project “TEN KA” with Kaspars Rolšteinas, electronic music artist Sign Libra, hip-hop artist PRiņi with Fiņķis also Plato Buravickis, always overwhelmed by unexpected sound changes.

On July 30, the internationally acclaimed electronic dance music DJ duo Taran & Lomov, the head of the jazz and experimental music publishing house Jersika Records and vinyl record DJ Mareks Ameriks, as well as an architect and an enthusiastic collector of indie music performed on the DJ stage “Nakts”.
