Thursday afternoon, 15-year-old Joshua was stabbed to death in the Rotterdam neighborhood of Beverwaard. He was resuscitated, but to no avail.

His mother tells RTV Rijnmond that just after the stabbing incident she already had a premonition when she saw an air ambulance. “I took my phone and started calling Joshua. Calling, calling and calling again. But he didn’t answer.” She heard from her daughter-in-law that he had been stabbed.

Suspect arrested
In the park she heard from the police that her son had died. She tells Rijnmond: “That my son was lying there in the bushes, I see that image every time. I always told him that I would fight for him, no matter what happens. Just when I had to fight for him , I wasn’t there. I wasn’t there. That hurts me.”

The reason for the stabbing is still unclear. Yesterday has another 15-year-old boy came forward at the police. He has been arrested for possible involvement. Its exact role is still under investigation.
