DNA tested
The bone that was found last week was DNA tested and confirmed as Dingley, according to the charity for the missing, LBT Globel.
Dingley’s parents say in a statement that it feels indescribable.
– We have known for several months that the chance was small to hug our dear Ester, feel her warm hands, see her beautiful smile, and the way she lights up a room, the parents say, according to Sky News.
The details of the cause are still unknown.
Reported the girlfriend missing
On November 21, Dingley decided to embark on a walk from Benasque in Spain to Refuge Vénasque in France.
The next day she sent a message to her boyfriend when she was on top of the mountain Pic de Sauvegarde. After this, the couple talked on the phone for 90 seconds.
This is the last sign of life from Dingley.
The girlfriend reported Dingley missing three days later, when she did not return as agreed.
– Esther and I had an expression that we said to each other every time we were to be apart: “You never know when it’s the last time”, Kjæresten tells BBC.
