Lithuania calls for an extraordinary meeting of EU interior ministers on the migration crisis

In a letter to his Slovenian counterpart, the Minister writes that Lithuania needs tangible political and financial support and expert assistance in order to stop the flow of illegal migrants and prevent them from passing through its territory to other EU member states.

“One of the most important tasks is the installation of a physical barrier. Assessing the dynamics of migration flows, we believe that this is the only pragmatic solution that will help achieve results in the short term,” emphasizes Bilotaite.
