A recent study showed that the effectiveness of the Covid-19 vaccine, developed by Pfizer and BioNTech (BNT162b2), dropped from 96% within two months of receiving the second dose to 84% six months after full vaccination.

In preliminary results published by medRxiv (a website that distributes unpublished fingerprints for health sciences) that is not certified by a peer review, the researchers note that the ongoing study included more than 44,000 participants who received 2 doses of the vaccine or placebo.

“With up to 6 months of follow-up and despite the gradually declining trend in vaccine efficacy, BNT162b2 has a favorable safety profile and is very effective in preventing Covid-19,” the researchers note.
