EU expressed readiness to discuss the allocation of the second tranche of aid to Ukraine

The European Union noted “significant progress in reforming various areas” in Ukraine and agreed to return to the discussion on financial assistance.

The European Union is ready in September to return to the issue of allocating the second tranche of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine. This was stated by the Vice-President of the European Commission Vladislav Dombrovskis, informs press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine on Thursday, July 29.

“We are ready to return to the issue of receiving (by Ukraine – ed.) The second tranche of EU macro-financial assistance in September this year,” Dombrovskis said in a telephone conversation with Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko.

Dombrovskis also noted “significant progress in reforming various areas” in Ukraine.

As a result of the conversation, the parties agreed to continue “a constructive dialogue on Ukraine’s receipt of the second tranche from the EU in September 2021.”
