Starting tomorrow, the GGD in Zeeland will be handing out self-tests to young people at the Duin en Strand campsite in Scharendijke. Anyone who tests positive can then immediately be tested by the GGD at the campsite.
“We want to prevent the young people from infecting their parents, grandparents or vulnerable people in their environment after a nice holiday,” coordinator Ilona Schinkelshoek told Broadcasting Zeeland.
Duin en Strand is one of the largest youth campsites in the Netherlands. Each week there is room for a maximum of 1,700 young people on holiday. The GGD is working with the campsite to ensure that as few visitors as possible take the coronavirus home with them.
