The Palestinian Ministry of Health said Shadi Omar Lotfi Salim, 41, was shot dead near the Palestinian village of Beita.
Beita deputy mayor Mussa Hamayel said Israeli forces killed the man as he entered the village on his return from work.
“He was killed in cold blood,” said the deputy mayor of Beita, adding that there were no protests in the area on Tuesday night. Al Araby, Wednesday (28/7/2021).

The Israeli army also issued a defense for this action. They said that while on routine duty the army saw a Palestinian suspect in the area, in the southern region of Nablus.
“When the Palestinian began advancing rapidly towards the troops with a suspicious object identified as an iron rod in his hand, the force operated to stop the suspect following standard procedures, including firing warning shots into the air,” the Israeli army defense said in a statement.
“As the suspect continued to advance, the squad commander fired at the suspect. The incident will be investigated,” the statement continued.
Human rights groups have repeatedly accused Israeli forces of using unnecessary and excessive force and carrying out extrajudicial killings of Palestinians.
