Fancy the OnePlus 9T? Then unfortunately we have bad news for you!

If you are eagerly waiting for the OnePlus 9T, you may come home from a cold fair. According to reliable leaker Max Jambor, OnePlus has decided not to bring a T-device on the market this year. If the source is right, then the OnePlus 10 is the first device we see.

In the spring of 2021, the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro were launched marketed. These devices were succeeded by of OnePlus Nord CE 5G and the recently launched OnePlus Nord 2. It was previously expected that this last device would be followed by the OnePlus 9T, but that no longer seems to be the case. But is that bad?

No OnePlus 9T in 2021

In 2021 you have a reliable leaker for every smartphone brand. These people often operate on Twitter and are the first to come up with the most interesting information. For OnePlus, Max Jambor is the person. Over the past few years, he’s built up a decent reputation and has had to make early revelations a few times. And this source now says that the OnePlus 9T will never see the light of day.

As a fan of OnePlus, it might be a shame that a third flagship will not hit the market this year. Still, the company’s decision is not very strange. Should the company omit the OnePlus 9T, it probably has to do with what the device can offer the consumer. The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro were such impressive smartphones that a device in the fall would probably be a very small upgrade. If that even happened at all.

The OnePlus 9T will therefore probably not see the light of day this year and will also be absent next year. The chance that the company will come with the OnePlus 10 in the spring of 2022 is a lot bigger.

Flagships less needed

As Jambor says in his tweet, staying away from the OnePlus 9T is less bad than you might think. Especially considering the OnePlus Nord 2 is for sale from today (July 28, 2021). The smartphone may not be compared with the OnePlus 9 Pro, but with a price tag of € 399 it shows that flagships have had their best days.
