Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti face Zheng Si Wei / Huang Ya Qiong at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza BDM in the mixed doubles quarter-final match at the Tokyo Olympics, Wednesday (28/7/2021) morning WIB. Praveen/Melati had a hard time quelling Zheng/Huang’s game at the beginning of the first game.
They immediately trailed 1-5 from the world’s number one pair. Zheng/Huang were able to maintain the distance to close the interval with an 11-5 advantage.
After the interval, Praveen/Melati amazingly got back from being behind 6-14 to 14-14. However, Zheng/Huang were then able to overcome Praveen/Jasmine’s pressure. The Chinese pair closed the first game with a 21-17 advantage.
Zheng/Huang immediately stepped on the gas at the beginning of the second game. They opened the second game by recording four consecutive points to lead 4-0.
Praveen/Melati then slowly managed to improve their appearance. This world number four pair can reduce the distance of points to 6-7.
But after that, Zheng/Huang played flawlessly. They lead 11-7 in the second game interval.
