An even sharper Defender could be named SVR and a twice-supercharged V8 engine from BMW.

The current Land Rover Defender V8, under the hood of which is a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine with an output of 386 kW (525 hp), offers an incredible amount of fun in the field and on the road. However, according to colleagues from MotorTrend, the Land Rover is working on an even sharper version, which could be called SVR.
An even sharper defect should replace the 5.0-liter V8 engine from the Jaguar Land Rover workshop with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo eight-cylinder fork from the BMW workshop. The output of the Munich eight-cylinder should then be around 447 kW, ie 608 hp.

The increase in performance would definitely be noticeable, while the current Defender V8 P525 offers acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.2 and 5.4 seconds in the longer four-door version 110. The maximum speed in both cases reaches 240 km / h .
According to overseas colleagues, the upcoming Defender SVR should then offer even more sporty design elements, chassis modifications and better driving dynamics. However, it is worth mentioning that the already existing Defender V8 has undergone similar changes, which will attract the attention of four exhaust tailpipes, specific painting or blue brake calipers.

The Defender V8 is the only one to offer Dynamics driving mode, which, thanks to the electronically controlled rear differentials with the Yaw Controller function, can also offer easy cornering controlled by skidding. Not to mention its modified shock absorbers, springs, stronger stabilizers, etc ..
However, if the rumors about the construction of an even sharper Defender SVR are confirmed, it will definitely be interesting to see how much the carmaker can still tune the chassis and the car’s capabilities. The already existing Defender V8 was able to amaze us during the first rides both on the road and in the field.
