EDHEC, SKEMA, Grenoble EM, emlyon, Sciences Po… The Grandes Écoles most represented at the Tokyo Olympics
Most of the students and graduates who take part in the Tokyo Olympics have followed the Grande École Program or a BBA in their establishment. Some have even followed their courses remotely, this is particularly the case of Manon Brunet who followed the BBA Online from EDHEC. A few rare athletes are students in executive education programs, such as Clarisse Agbegnenou who is currently at HEC Paris.
The most represented establishment at the Tokyo Olympics is Grenoble EM. Grenoble business school has 12 athletes, or 23.5% of athletes from Grandes Écoles. The business school is followed by l’EDHEC which has 7 athletes (13.7%), Sciences Po with 5 athletes (9.8%), emlyon which has 4 athletes (7.8%) and SCHEME which has 3 athletes (5.9%).
Business schools stand out, as many of them offer online training or facilities for high-level athletes. These are not the only ones, because the universities are also greatly represented at the Tokyo Olympics, but we have chosen to isolate only the Grandes Écoles. For graduates from several schools, we have chosen to retain the school in which they obtained their Master’s degree.
SKEMA is also committed to the training of athletes and has recently acquired the label Generation 2024. « The Generation 2024 label is an additional tool to strengthen and multiply the bridges between school and sport. It helps to strengthen the image and attractiveness of schools and to boost their educational project by mobilizing local sports clubs and local authorities around common projects. », Explains Tony Estanguet, President of the Organizing Committee for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
