Suspected perpetrator of slashing MUI chairman Ketua Labuhanbatu Utara (Labura), Ustaz Aminnur Rasyid Aruan, was arrested by the police. The perpetrator was arrested in an oil palm plantation area.
“Yes, it is true that we have arrested the perpetrators,” said Labuhanbatu Police Chief AKBP Deni Kurniawan, when asked for confirmation, Tuesday (27/7/2021).
Deni said the suspect was named Suprianto alias Anto Dogol (35). He was arrested in an oil palm plantation area not far from the scene.
“Arrested a few hours after the incident. The perpetrator was arrested after the police were assisted by the community in combing the oil palm plantation area around the scene,” said Deni.
Shortly after being arrested, the perpetrator was about to be judged by the masses. The police then dispelled the crowd and took the perpetrator to the police station.
Previously, Chairman of the MUI Labur Ustaz Aminnur Rasyid Aruan was hacked to death while driving. The video of the stabbing went viral on social media.
“Yes, it is being handled. The perpetrator is being hunted by initials A, yes,” said the Head of the Kualuh Hulu Sector Police, AKP Sahrial Sirait, to reporters, Tuesday (27/7).
Sahrial said the incident occurred in Gunting Saga on Tuesday (27/7) afternoon, around 18.00 WIB. Regarding the motive, Sahrial said it was still under investigation.
Seen by detikcom, Ustaz Aminnur Rasyid was attacked while riding his motorcycle. As a result of the attack, his body fell into a ditch in a prostrate position. In addition, the victim’s wrist was severed.
