While Twitter will accept payments with bitcoin, Amazon denies it

It should be remembered that Amazon is not the only company that has a reluctant relationship with cryptocurrencies. In early 2021, Tesla reported that it would begin accepting bitcoin payments for its cars, but backtracked that decision after a couple of months due to environmental concerns.

In fact, this same reason could be one of the reasons why Amazon has not fully entered the cryptocurrency market, since it has accepted that greenhouse gas emissions continue to increase and last year announced a fund of 2,000 million dollars to promote technologies that reduce these gases.

Despite these problems, tech company leaders have maintained their stance on the relevance of cryptocurrencies. An example of this are Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey, who last week participated in a forum where the institutional use of bitcoin was encouraged.

Even Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, said that this cryptocurrency will be essential for the growth of their social network, as they have plans to use it in some of their services, such as Super Follows, Commerces, Subscriptions or Tip Jar around the world.
