At the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, the first corona patients were treated with special antibodies who did not produce enough antibodies themselves, for example because they were taking immunosuppressive medication.

The center reports this on its own site. It speaks of a breakthrough itself.
Casirivimab and imdevimab are antibodies that prevent the coronavirus from entering human cells. “You buy the time, as it were, to let patients make their own antibodies. In patients who will never make antibodies, it helps the other immune systems in the body in their fight against the virus,” says internist-infectiologist Bart Rijnders of Erasmus MC, who applied the treatment. Some people do not make antibodies even after complete vaccination.

“Every new Covid-19 patient is now checked immediately upon admission to see whether there are already antibodies in the blood. If not, we have a new treatment in our arsenal.”
The antibodies were made in the lab, but discovered in the blood plasma of a patient who had had corona. The new therapy has not yet been fully registered, but has been approved for use by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
