Denmark will give the third shot to cross-vaccinated people

About 150,000 Danes have been vaccinated with two different vaccines. When the vaccination program has been completed, all of them will be offered a third bite, the Ministry of Health confirms to DR News.

– The National Board of Health has considered that it is health-professional best to offer another dose of mRNA vaccine to people who have received the first injection of the AstraZeneca vaccine and the second injection of an mRNA vaccine, they tell the channel.

How the order will be and how it will be implemented in practice has not yet been decided. This will be agreed in more detail between the National Board of Health and the regions.

It is mainly healthcare professionals who have received AstraZeneca as their first dose. In April, the Danish health authorities, as the first country in the world, withdrew the vaccine from the national vaccine program after a connection was found between rare but serious side effects in some people.

Several countries require that you have received two bites of the same vaccine before you can travel to them.
