WARTAKOTALIVE.COM, JAKARTA – The assumption that the mobile device belongs to Apple, iPhone is a smartphone with the most advanced security system and has strong privacy is not always true.
This is proven if the security system for the new cellphone made by the late Steve Jobs was successfully penetrated by the Pegasus spyware made by the Israeli company, NSO Group.
Sympathizing with the incident, WhatsApp boss Will Cathcart gave advice to Apple in dealing with spyware that is known to also attack politicians, activists, journalists, and several applications.
The worldwide Pegasus spyware is also a special agency for Amnesty International.

The non-profit organization revealed a list containing thousands of phone numbers suspected of being the target of the spyware. Some of these numbers belong to presidents, ministers, activists and journalists.
In an interview with The Guardian some time ago, Cathcart praised Microsoft and other technology companies for revealing the dangers of malware from Pegasus.
However, Apple’s contradictory attitude was shown which did not take similar steps.
“I hope Apple will take that approach as well. Speak out loud, join with other technology companies to ward off the Pegasus attack,” Cathcart said as quoted by the Independent, Tuesday (27/7/2021)
In fact, Cathcart considers Apple too light in responding to this global issue. Apple tends to think of spyware from Pegasus as just an action targeting certain parties.
“It’s not enough to just say most of our users don’t need to worry, it’s not enough to say ‘oh this only has tens of thousands of victims’. If this affects journalists around the world, it’s a threat to human rights defenders around the world, it affects all of us Finally, all types of cellphones are not safe from this threat,” he added.
