An apartment fire was reported to the Dresden integrated regional control center via the police command and situation center. When the first emergency services arrived at the scene, furniture was on fire on the terrace of an apartment on the ground floor. Immediately a squad with respiratory protection took up the fire fighting with a nozzle. At the same time, the residents of the residential building were evacuated. Tactical ventilation prevented smoke build-up in the stairwell and evacuation could be carried out without any problems. A total of 18 people were brought to safety via the stairwell. A pane of glass was destroyed by the heat, which led to smoke in an apartment on the ground floor. Ventilation measures were also carried out here. A follow-up inspection was carried out with a thermal imaging camera after the extinguishing work was complete. Nobody got hurt. The tenants of the fire apartment are temporarily staying with neighbors. The police have opened an investigation into the cause of fire. 28 emergency services from the Löbtau and Altstadt fire and rescue stations, the B service, the U service and the Gorbitz district fire brigade were deployed.
