Spotify Y Electric Lady Studios are delighted to announce their new series of live EPs titled Live at Electric Lady. This new series, which is an extension of the existing collaboration for Spotify Singles, comes from the oldest recording facilities in the Northeast and the world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service, and will offer live audio recordings of high quality, exclusively distributed on Spotify.
With the first release of Live at Electric Lady the Thursday July 29 with Jon Batiste, the next list of live EPs will include Patti Smith, Japanese Breakfast, Dominic Fike, Faye Webster, Bleachers, Remi Wolf Y Natalie Bergman, with more surprises to come.
The first guest: Jon Batiste
One of the best-known musicians of his generation, virtuoso pianist, singer, conductor, educator, and television personality Jon Batiste has spent his career bringing music back to where it came from – the people. Born into the legendary Batiste family in Louisiana, Jon studied at Juilliard, where he established his band Stay Human by playing the New York subways and in street performances that he called “love riots.” He developed a fluency in jazz and popular music of all kinds, collaborating with legends from Wynton Marsalis to Prince. In 2015, Jon was appointed Band Director and Music Director of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
