Starting the Islamic New Year 1443 H later, Saudi Arabia will again allow international pilgrims to carry out Umrah starting August 10, 2021. The good news is that Indonesia can also perform Umrah, but there are quite strict conditions.
“Masjid Raya is ready to receive umrah pilgrims,” said the Deputy Head of Affairs of the Grand Mosque, Saad bin Muhammad Al-Muhaimid, quoted from the Daily Star, Monday (26/7/2021).
The news of the plan to open the Umrah was previously sparked by the Deputy Secretary General of the Muslim Association of Hajj and Umrah Organizers of the Republic of Indonesia (AMPHURI) Rizky Sembada, to detikTravel, Monday (19/7/2021)
The opening of this umrah has indeed become a discourse from the Government of Saudi Arabia. However, the question is the list of umrah pilgrims.
“Whether this Umrah is opened for Saudi Arabia itself or internationally, Wallahualam,” he said.
In the last Hajj, there were 327 citizens who became pilgrims this year. They are citizens who have been residing in Saudi Arabia and have registered as candidates in accordance with the procedures applied by Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, citing the Haramain Sharifan website, all countries are allowed to make direct flights to Saudi Arabia to take part in Umrah except 9 countries. The 9 countries are India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Turkey, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, and Lebanon.
Pilgrims from these 9 countries are required to quarantine for 14 days in a third country before arriving in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Other requirements that must be met by Umrah pilgrims are that they have been fully vaccinated or have received 2 doses of Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccines.
If you get the vaccine from China, there must be another booster. “Dosage of Chinese-made COVID-19 vaccine with one booster vaccine injection from Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson is also permitted,” the report said.
In addition to implementing health protocols, pilgrims Umrah also required to follow the signs on the floor when performing Tawaf during the COVID-19 pandemic.
