The Netherlands cancels summer music festivals

This includes the cancellation of the Lowlands Festival, for which tickets were already sold out. Due to the pandemic, this festival was canceled last year as well.

The Mysteryland and Down the Rabbit Hole festivals, which were scheduled for August, have also been canceled.

“Unfortunately, (..) we had to extend the current ban on festivals lasting more than 24 hours until at least September 1,” said Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rite.

The authorities added that the plan to check festival-goers every 24 hours was too complicated.
