Schoolchildren in grades 1-4 will receive grades in the form of letters, and not in the form of numbers – the Ministry of Education has developed new recommendations.
The Ministry of Education has approved recommendations for assessing the learning outcomes of schoolchildren in grades 1-4. Relevant order and text of recommendations published on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science on Monday 26 July.
“One of the key changes in the assessment is the approach to the expression of the assessment. To replace the generalized point assessment of the educational achievements of students in the subject / course, it is proposed to use the verbal assessment of individual student / student learning outcomes in the subject of study, an integrated course, which, in addition to a value judgment of achievement, can also to name the level of learning outcomes, “the message says.
The Recommendations introduce the concept of “verbal assessment” (value judgment) and “level assessment” (value judgment indicating the level of the result).
Verbal and level assessment can be expressed both orally and in writing. It is recommended to determine the level of the learning outcome taking into account the dynamics of its achievement and designate with letters – “initial” (P), “average” (C), “sufficient” (D), “high” (B).
At the same time, the results of assessing the personal achievements of students in grades 1-4 are recommended to be expressed by a verbal assessment, objective learning outcomes in grades 1-2 – a verbal assessment, in grades 3-4 – either a verbal or level assessment at the choice of the institution.
The new system makes it possible to ensure the objectivity and accuracy of the assessment result and is designed to help form value judgments and determine the level of the learning outcome, the ministry explained.
In addition, the assessment is confidential information available only to the student / student and his / her parents (or their substitutes). It is recommended to keep in mind that the formulation of the assessment starts from the first days of school and continues continuously.
Recall that the Ministry of Digital will buy laptops for 60 thousand Ukrainian teachers… A billion hryvnia will be allocated for the implementation of the initiative – the average cost of a laptop will be 20 thousand hryvnia.
Also named the most popular specialties and universities among applicants. Applicants have created more than 190 thousand electronic cabinets, through which more than 886 thousand applications for admission to universities have been submitted.
