Operatives detained two defendants immediately after committing theft in another apartment in Pechersk.
In Kiev, law enforcement officers exposed a gang of burglars who robbed the apartment of an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This is reported by the Department of Internal Security of the National Police in Facebook on Monday, July 26th.
So, law enforcement officers learned about two burglaries in Solomensky district at the end of May. The intruders squeezed out the plastic windows, entered the premises and stole jewelry, money savings and other valuables of the owners. One of the apartments is owned by an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the investigation, the police found that a group of foreigners who now live in Kiev were involved in the commission of the crimes. Operatives detained two defendants immediately after the theft was committed in another apartment, this time in the Pechersk district of the capital.
The thieves got into the house, damaging the core of the door lock. They stole over 1,000 dollars, 400 euros, almost 6,000 hryvnias, as well as gold jewelry, watches and other valuables. When examining the intruders and during a search of their rented car and their places of residence, law enforcement officers found and seized master keys, tools used by thieves, as well as items stolen earlier.
Investigators announced to 25-year-old and 35-year-old men on suspicion under the article on theft (part 3 of article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The men were detained and placed in a temporary detention facility pending the election of a preventive measure. They face up to six years in prison.
Earlier it was reported that a guard in Kiev stole 70 thousand hryvnia from the capital’s office… The man took advantage of the temporary absence of employees at their workplaces and committed theft.
