Last straight line for the 30 pairs competing for the second round of the departmental elections which is held on Sunday in the fifteen cantons of Tarn-et-Garonne.
An election is never won or lost in advance. So three days before the second round of the departmental, in Tarn-et-Garonne, everyone wants to be “careful.” Last collages, last negotiations, the candidates throw their ultimate strength into the battle. They must go and find the votes one by one at this very special end of the campaign.
No pair elected in the first round. Despite an unequivocal victory, the scores were not enough for pairs to send them directly to the departmental council. The fault, of course, with a low participation which did not allow them to garner 25% of the registered voters. Four duos thus crossed the bar of 50% of the cast but are forced to a second round this Sunday: Jean-Michel Baylet and Christiane Le Corre (PRG) in Valence d’Agen (53, 77% of those cast, 24, 77% of those registered), Romain Lopez (RN) in Moissac (57, 42 of those cast, 22, 53% of those registered) , Véronique Colombié and Jean-Philippe Bésiers (DVC) in Castelsarrasin (50, 50% of those cast, 16, 66% of those registered) and Marie-Josée Mauriège and Christian Astruc (DVC) in the canton of Garonne-Lomagne-Brulhois (56 % of those cast, 24, 37% of those registered). We will therefore vote on 15cantons Sunday.
The ballots were rather favorable. Several pairs turned with a comfortable lead last Sunday: Marie-Claude Nègre and Alain Belloc (PRG / DVG) in Verdun, Dominique Sardeing and Michel Weill (Union de la gauche) in Montech, Patricia Ducasse and Jérôme Beq (UCD) in Tarn-Tescou Quercy-vert … Even if the dynamic is for her in Caussade, Valérie Rabault will have to be wary of a surge from the right which will count on the help of the RN.A Beaumont-de- Lomagne, the outgoing Jean-Luc Deprince (PRG) who received the support of Carole Delga at the beginning of the week is favorite against an unlikely duo (Tonin-Cornille), supported by LR and the RN, one of the holders of which is also vice-president of the agglomeration of Grand Montauban! Look for the landmarks.
On the canton of Montauban-2, the socialist and radical duo Bourdoncle-Gonzalez stood out against seven other pairs in the first round. The hardest part seems done. The team has good reserves of votes to transform the test.
Hot spots. On the other hand, the games are far from over in the cantons of Montauban-1 and Montauban-3, Pays-de-Serres Sud-Quercy and Quercy-Rouergue, where all the votes carry over will count … Observers will also watch up close, during the second round, how the Republican front is doing in Tarn-et-Garonne. With several scenarios of candidates, left and right, who find themselves facing the extreme right.
