Several municipalities in northern Norway join forces on corona measures after outbreaks

The municipalities of Lødingen, Evenes, Tjelsund, Kvæfjord and Harstad join forces on regional measures to reduce coronary outbreaks, Harstad municipality reports in a press release.

The measures apply from Monday 26 July.

Among the measures are the waiting quarantine for household members to close contacts, restrictions on the number of visitors in private homes to five in addition to household members, requirements for infection control-sound operation at restaurants, stop drinking at midnight and a recommendation for a mouthpiece.

The Hålogalands region now has several local covid-19 outbreaks. Overall, the region has one of the country’s highest infection pressures, with over 150 infected in recent weeks. Several of the outbreaks are with the more contagious delta variant of the covid-19 virus, and many have been infected in private gatherings and at nightclubs, the municipality writes in the press release.
